在钢边橡胶止水带的生产过程，我们可以先将经过先期处理的镀锌钢带插入橡胶中间硫化成形，两者之间的粘结力的牢固性，具有明显防渗止水方面的效果。中埋式钢边止水带的中间橡胶体在结构变形时被压缩、拉伸、变形，而起到密封止水作用；镀锌钢带与混凝土有着良好的粘附性，不易脱落和松动，使止水带能承受较大的拉力和扭力。在施工中由于混凝土浇筑时的巨大振动力和不易固定，会使普通橡胶止水带产生移位、扯离、扭转而出现松动和脱落，以致在水压较大的情况下会产生渗漏现象，而采用钢边橡胶止水带时，由于钢带与混凝土、钢带与橡胶之间不会产生新的渗漏缝。因此，钢边橡胶止水带增强了结构变形的防渗性能，对整个工程的防渗止水起到了重要的质量保证作用，同时在安装后具有良好的自定性好，克服了止水带需用多方固定的工序，使施工安装更加的方便。
